New applications for Homestead Exemption for the current year must be made in person prior to March 1st at the Property Appraiser's office or at select locations during the regular homestead filing period.

If you no longer qualify for the exemption, you are required to notify the Property Appraiser's office. Failure to do so may impose penalties and interest on property tax exemptions you did not qualify for.

Those persons not filing a federal tax return must provide the Property Appraiser with copies of all end of year income statements.
